This page will give you all the details you need to upload, manage, and add your images to auctions. All features mentioned here can be accessed by clicking on the Image Hosting link on the left of the page. In order to follow along more easily, you may want to open a second browser window by clicking here. Adding Images: Before you you upload any images to our system, you will want to make sure that they have been edited, and are in the proper format. If you need additional information on editing your images, or saving them, please read our "Image Editing Walkthrough" first. Also, if you plan to use the Honesy One-step Lister tool, you will not need to follow all of these instructions. The image hosting options are built right into our lister, and work identically as described here. Any images uploaded through the "Add Images" page described below will still be accesible in the One-Step Lister. Transferring images to Honesty is quite easy. From our Image Hosting section, click on the "Add images" link. This will give you a screen with 5 image upload slots, along with 5 "Browse" buttons. To select your first image, click the first browse button. Doing so will pop up a file upload dialogue box. This box allows you to navigate through the folders on your computer until you find the folder where your images have been saved. Because some browsers try to find HTML files by default, you may need to change the file type to "All Files", as shown below: ![]() Once you have selected the folder that your images are in from the menu at the top, you will see all of your photos there. You can select the one that you want to store on our site, and select open or save. This will fill in the image box, but will not begin the transfer just yet. Once you have select up to 4 other photo's, you can use the "Upload images" button to start sending them. Depending on the number of images and thier size, the transfer can take up to 5 minutes. If it takes longer than that, you may wish to read our IMAGE EDITING tutorial to make your images smaller. Once the transfer has completed, you will get a results screen. It will tell you how many images have been uploaded, along with a URL to the image. If you are using an External program, such as Mister Lister, you will want to make note of this URL somewhere. You will need it when asked for your images. Otherwise, adding the image is automated for both Amazon and eBay, so you won't need the URL at all. Since you have no limit on the number of images or space that you can use, you can repeat this upload procedure as many times as you'd like. Managing Images: Now that you've got your images stored with Honesty, what next? The first the first thing to do is visit your Manage Images section. Once logged in, it will display all the images that you currently have with us, along with some basic information, such as thier size, transfer time, and the URL to the image. You can view the image by clicking on the filename link. You will also notice that each image has a checkbox next to it, and these are used as a means of selecting images. If you scroll down to the bottom of the page, you will see three options. The first is a "Delete Selected Images" button. What this does is remove any images that you have checked off. Deleted images will not show on your page, and they will also stop working on any auctions that they are linked to. Be very cautious when erasing images, although we do have a way to recover images which will be expalined shortly. The next option is "Attach images to eBay". By filling in this information, you can add all of the images to whatever running auction that you would like. These images can be added at any time, regardless of any bids on the item. While this option can do multiple images at one time, it can only handle item at a time. The final option is to attach an image to an Amazon auction. It works identically to the eBay option, although it can only handle one picture at a time. This is due to a limitation of Amazon, that only allows us to add a certain amount of data at a time. While this option is not under the manage images section itself, you can find a link for our Recover Images section under the images hosting menu. When you delete an image, we don't really delete it. It is marked for removal 7 days later, and can be restored any time prior to that. If you ever notice that an image is missing, check this section first to make sure that you haven't accidentally removed it from your manage images section. |
