God.. I think I forgot how to do this.
Ya know, when I first started this musing thing, I thought I could do it DAILY, and now it's sorta a quarterly thing where I ramble. And it's not because of any other reason other than I'm laz... er, busy.. Yea, that's it, I've been REAL REAL BUSY and....
ALLRIGHT!
Lemme tell you the real story. I lost (yea... hard to believe) my digitial camera somewhere in this mess I call a house and that was my INITIAL excuse, and from there, well, I kinda just forgot about them.
Someone reminded me via a nice red slash mark through the "weekly", so I figured it was about time to actually git down to bidness and write me one of these little dittys.
Lesse.... let's talk about..... yellow sticky pads! YES... no, that's boring as hell, Scott.
How about my auctions. PSYCH! I haven't run any in ages.
Okay, I'll babble about eBay's Buy It Now, which was just introduced before the holidays:
I wish people would use it more, especially in the catagories in which I look.
I wish people would, when they do use it, use realistic sale prices instead of some of the prices I've seen. It's Buy It Now, not 'Let's see if they'll pay up the nose.'
Heck, maybe I'll offload some of my own goodies.... suuuure, as soon as I get back to weekly musing. (smirk)
Seriously though, this feature on eBay is really something that has caught my eye. I'm VERY impatient when I'm bidding and when I see something I really want and I DONT want to lose it, I'll be using it.
And... speaking of eBay (and no, that's NOT why I plugged them above), many of you probably know that Honesty was named the exclusive counter on eBay. I've only been wanting to say that for ages. And all I initially wanted was to see if people were looking at my auction listings...
Must say, folks, this is a pretty amazing ride... and, I'm TRULY indebted to you.. We all are, really..
Photo time!
This is a picture of nothing.
(see, I told you I lost my digital camera.... there is no picture in this musings... you'll have to imagine one...)
On a technical side, we've released a number of new features, and I want to be totally up front about this right here in my 'personal space.' These are NOT free services. Whereas the sponsor revenue is key to our overall success here at Honesty, we need to actually be a PROFITABLE company in order to survive in both the long and short term.
Clicking on our sponsors and buying the products the offer supports Honesty on a day-to-day basis. But, long term, that's not viable and as we continue to grow at the pace that we always have, the choice gets simple. Either we don't offer the services at all, or we offer them at a rate that's AFFORDABLE for everyone to use and in a manner that they'd like.
So what we did is, basically, put it to you. What do you want? Pretty much everyone said make 'em, so we have.
And more stuff is on the way, and keep in mind, we WILL still continue to offer freebies as time goes on. That's a tradition that we're not going to throw away.
Next subject.... hmmm....
This is still a picture of nothing.
(Okay, everyone! Grab a crayon. Draw on your monitor. There. Now everyone has a picture to go along with these musings.)
(smile)
Oh yea, I need to say this, and this is as good of a place as any...
I'm not Mr. Political, and I'm not about to begin now (so don't worry (snicker) ) but I'm really getting to the point where I'd just like to see us, as a nation, pick a President a little quicker next time.
We can't be THIS divided, can we?
Lastly, I want to say that living in airports stinks. (giggle)
Okay, it's not TOO bad, but here's my story... Up until this past year, I'd flown a total of once. Now, I can race through an airport with 20 minutes before takeoff and be seated comfortably before the airline shuts the door. And I used to be terrified to fly. Still don't dig it 100%, but it does beat walking 2200 miles to work. (smile)
Well, with that I'll end, and let everyone know that we really appreciate what you've all enabled us to accomplish. This eBay official counter is pretty amazing, and when I sit back and think that it all really began because a few auction users wanted to see how many people visit an auction listing, well, whereas it's not made me a wealthy man, I think of all of you people who do make it.
That's all until next wee, er month, er, season, er, next year, er, next deca.... millen.....
(smile)
